Boots Tennis Elbow Support. Playing sports such as tennis or golf for long periods of time can lead to repetitive strain injury. This can be very painful and it can prevent you from staying active. Boots supports for repetitive strain can help you protect yourself during exercise and recover more quickly. Repetitive strain injury of the elbow affects the tendons which run down the forearm. Boots Sport Tennis Elbow Support provides targeted compression to the area of weakness which reduces pain and swelling. It alleviates the excessive forces applied to tendons during exercise and limits any shock or vibrations which can damage the tendons. The support has been designed with adjustable fasteners to ensure a customised fit for most body types. It is also reversible for right and left elbows. Care Instructions: Handwash at 40°c, Do not use bleach, Line dry, Do not iron, Do not dry clean. Material Content: Nylon 48%, PU foam 30%, polyester 14%, neoprene 8%.
How to use
This support is suitable for elbow dimensions of 22cm - 38cm (8½ - 15 inches). This is the measurement around the forearm, adjacent to the elbow. Locate the area of pain on the forearm by probing gently with the fingertips. Place the padded area of the support centrally over this area of pain. Close the fastener, adjusting the tightness so that the pad applies a noticeable pressure to the forearm. Adjust the tightness over time as required.
Hazards and cautions
This strap should only be used to treat problems with the tendons in the forearm, these are usually associated with pain on the forearm, near the elbow, that gets worse after exercise. This support is not intended for continuous wear. Do not over tighten. This may increase swelling or cut circulation.
Important info
If discomfort or pain results from using this support, discontinue use and seek medical advice. If the support is being used following an injury, seek medical advice if no improvement is seen within 72 hours. If the injury is severe or if in any doubt, seek medical advice immediately.
